FAQ for Burnout 2024:

  • Burnout 2024 takes place at the Epicenter, a Burner-operated event- and maker- space located at 6781 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland OR.


    2pm Saturday, September 28th
    through 6am Sunday, September 29th

    2pm - 9pm - Free, all ages
    9pm - 6am - Ticketed, 21+, alcohol sales

    The Epicenter is in a business park with 2 entrances on Columbia Blvd. Venue is all the way in the back!. If you type "Epicenter" in Google Maps it will show you exactly where to go.

  • Burnout is a Decompression event managed by an all-volunteer team and supported by the nonprofit organization, Precipitation Northwest.

    Burnout is officially recognized by the Burning Man Project as a sanctioned Decompression event.

  • Attending Burnout is free and all ages until 9pm, at which point it becomes a ticketed event ($45 in advance plus Eventbrite fees) with alcohol sales.

    Buy tickets in advance (recommended) or at the door (pending capacity, no cash sales).

  • Attendees can expect to interact with 12 theme camps, experience 22 art pieces, enjoy over 14 hours of both electronic and live musical performances, and witness dozens of Portland’s finest fire dancers. See a map of the event here.

    Plus, as a Burner event, you can expect radical participation from everyone – including, maybe, you! What will you bring?

  • Several theme camps plan to gift food and non-alcoholic beverages, and after 9pm the bar will be selling alcoholic beverages. Due to OLCC regulations, there will be no gifted alcohol available. 

    Local burner owned food cart Desi PDX will be selling phenomenal Indian food.

    There will be water stations throughout the event.

  • By notice of the Fire Marshal of the City of Portland: due to to a Multnomah County-wide fire ban, fire is not allowed at Burnout 2024. This restriction includes
    fire spinning and propane fire art.

    We encourage everyone to attend Burnout prepared to flow with LED props and other glow equipment.

  • Official registration closed on September 21 and all applicants were reviewed and placed at that time.  View the full map of amazing registered participants here.

  • Before 9pm, the event is free and unticketed. Starting at 9pm, tickets and wristbands are required. Re-entry is permitted with a valid wristband.

  • No: firearms, weapons of any kind, fire works, fire props, explosives, dogs.

    Please note: Due to the uniquely creative nature of Burn events, the guidelines above may not be complete. Volunteer leads or security staff may request removal of disruptive items on site.

  • The Epicenter has a large parking lot that will accommodate vehicles of all sizes. 

  • A decompression event is a chance for Burners (Burning Man attendees/enthusiasts) to gather and celebrate after Burning Man. Portland’s event typically takes place in late September/early October, a few weeks after the Burn ends.
