We know that bringing your gifts to Decompression involves planning in advance; once we receive your form, we’ll get you the info you need as quickly as we can.

  • Communal Effort is one of the foundational pillars of the burning man community. So is Participation! This is your opportunity to offer your skills to help co-create this event and practice your Civic Responsibility.

    4 credits earns you a free ticket to Burnout 2024! Register here.

  •  BurnOut 2024 volunteers have the opportunity to earn a no-cost volunteer ticket to BurnOut 2024, BurnOut Swag, and volunteer credits towards a SOAK 2025 ticket.

    • To receive a BurnOut volunteer ticket, you must sign up for at least 4 credits (typically 1 hr = 1 credit) worth of shifts. Please note some shifts are worth 2 credits / hour - these shifts are denoted as 'High Need' shifts.

    • If you sign up for at least 4 credits, your name will be on a list at the door to receive a no-cost BurnOut ticket.

    • All volunteers who sign up for at least one shift will receive a BurnOut T-Shirt, which can be picked up at the volunteer registration table when you sign out of your shift.

    • Any shift marked as 'High Need' that is worked will receive 1 volunteer credit towards their SOAK 2025 ticket.

    • Volunteers may accrue points with multiple departments; there is no requirement that all efforts be directed to a single team.

    • No matter how many points are accrued, only one Volunteer Ticket will be awarded.

    • Failing to notify your Department Lead or BurnOut Producers that you won't be coming to your shift may prevent you from volunteering in the future for BurnOut and/or SOAK events.

  • Share what your theme camp does with veteran Burners, newbies, and those who are just discovering our culture. Bust out your dusty carports and keep the gifting going!

  • 100% of the art at Burnout is brought by our community. Share your sparkle with Burners and those who are just discovering our world!

  • Musician and DJ applications are closed for Burnout 2024.

    Experience 14+ hours of music at Burnout 2024!

  • IMPORTANT: By notice of the Fire Marshal of the City of Portland: due to to a Multnomah County-wide fire ban, fire is not allowed at Burnout 2024. This restriction includes
    fire spinning and propane fire art.

    We encourage everyone to attend Burnout prepared to flow with LED props and other glow equipment.
